Faith etc CHARACTER NAME: Draco Lucius Malfoy FANDOM: Harry Potter AGE: 21 ALIGNMENT (GOOD, EVIL, NEUTRAL): formerly evil, now neutral BRIEF BACKGROUND SUMMARY: Draco was the only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, and the child of two of the most powerful and oldest families, the Malfoys and the Blacks. He was raised to believe completely in the superiority of pure blood and to be a true Slytherin. He also talked of supporting the Dark Lord, Voldemort, angering Harry and his friends. This attitude changed when Voldemort really came back. Over time Draco came to realise how scary Voldemort really was. By this point the Malfoy family was in too deep. Draco was forced into taking the job to assassinate Dumbledore himself. During the 6th year he tried increasingly sloppily to kill him before finally confronting his headteacher in the tower. At the crucial moment he lowered his wand, unable to go through with it, allowing Snape to kill him instead. (A plan which was later revealed to be concocted by Dumbledore and Snape as Voldemort had always intended for Draco to die in his attempt) The seventh book saw a changed and more humble Draco, forced to stay at Voldemort's side for fear that he'd kill his family. The increasing horrors he saw forever scarred him. He even tried, as best he could, to help Harry, lying to the Death Eaters when he recognised the trio is disguise. After the defeat of Voldemort, following Narcissa's help to Harry and probably due in part to Draco's clear reluctance to serve with the Death Eaters, the Malfoy's were cleared and allowed to live their lives. For a couple of years Draco tried to repent for his past before it became clear that even if they'd been cleared legally the Malfoy family would never truly be forgiven for their mistakes. Now at age 21 he has become somewhat bitter and angry, at himself, Voldemort and everyone else, withdrawing from people and mostly keeping his own company. (It would take a couple of years for this to pass and for him to marry and have his son, Scorpios.)
